Weimann CottageThe two-storey, four roomed stone structure, dates from the 1840s. A typical middle-class merchant’s townhouse, with shop, it lacks the normal refinement of the larger country homes of that time. The cottage takes its name from Albert Weidmann who conducted a butcher’s shop on the northern side. The property was owned by the Weidmann family from 1891-1977.  The Muswellbrook Shire Council restored it in 1988, with financial assistance from grants and the local community. A wooden wing at the rear, and the shop, were removed at that time. It is now used by the Muswellbrook Local and Family History Society Inc. as a Heritage Centre.
