Director of Corporate and Community Services

The Director of Corporate and Community Services is the head of the Corporate and Community Services Department. The Department is responsible for the following principal activities determined under the Council’s Management Plan:

Policy and Planning

Including strategic planning, management planning, financial planning, policy development, organisational development and statutory financial statements.Go to top of page

Corporate Services

Includes financial services, financial information, administration services council relations, public relations, property, legal services, insurance and risk management, human resource services, information technology services, occupational health and safety, land development, community planning, community support, cultural planning, and governance.

Community Planning

Including community services planning and the facilitation of government funded and community based services.Go to top of page

Cultural

Includes visual and performing arts and other cultural services as well as provision of associated buildings.Go to top of page

The Department's teams

The Customer Service team

Provides a response to customer enquiries; records management as well as providing administrative support to the Council and its committees and other departments and business units of the Council. Go to top of page

The Administration team

Responsible for preparing Council and Committee Business papers, taking minutes of meetings, preparing documents, assisting in the presentation of civic receptions and citizenship ceremonies, updating Councils policy and procedure documents, public officer library, Internet site development, human resources issues and occupational health and safety.Go to top of page

The Finance team

Provides accounting services and financial reports to management and Council on internal and external financial matters, insurance, risk management and property, and information technology requirements.Go to top of page

The Community Planning team

Provides community services planning and the facilitation of government funded and community based services.Go to top of page

The Cultural team

Provides services in relation to visual and performing arts and other cultural services. Go to top of page

The Corporate Services team

Responsible for operations of the Visitor Information Centre and other commercial activities including land sales and providing project management for issues that have a commercial focus.  The team is required to coordinate and liaise with industry, government and the community.Go to top of page

Commercial Activities 

Commercial Activities include entrepreneurial activities, economic development, Business and Industry Development, Commercial Development and Tourism.  The Director of Corporate and Community Services is responsible for the Local Development principal activity. Go to top of page

The Economic Development Manager

Responsible for day to day operations and reports directly to the Director, Corporate & Community Services. The business centre is responsible for the land development program, developing strategies for commercial and industrial development and strategies for tourism. Go to top of page
