Development control plan
(Revision 1)
Revision 1 of Muswellbrook Development Control Plan was adopted at the meeting of Council held on 13 September 2010.
Gazetted on Thursday 9th April 2009.
The Development Control Plan 2009 (DCP) applies to all land within the Muswellbrook Shire local government area, and is used to assist proponents of development in achieving development outcomes, consistent with the provisions of the Local Environmental Plan 2009.

Adopted Amendments (13/09/10)
The amendments included in Revision 1 relate to sections 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14, and 16 of the Development Control Plan, and are outlined in the table below.

| Section 2 – Submitting an Amendment | Amendment advises that an acoustic assessment may need to accompany certain development applications. |
| Section 6 – Residential Development | Amendment ensures that new development within the RU5 Village Zone responds to the development controls specified in Section 6 of the DCP. Amendment relates to the permissible height of retaining walls within the front setback of residential development. |
| Section 7 – Village Zones | Amendment provides Council greater discretion in approving non-residential developments located outside the business precincts of village zones. |
| Section 8 – Rural and Environmental Zone Development | Amendment ensures that rural property access roads comply with Council’s specifications. |
| Section 9 – Local Centre Development | Amendment responds to a range of accessibility issues into and within new local centre development. |
| Section 14 – Outdoor Signage | Amendment aims to minimise the impact of signage on the community, and restricts inappropriate signage. |
| Section 16 – Car Parking and Access | Amendment aims to ensure consistent residential parking requirements. |
