Does the proposed work or development fit within the exempt development categories
and criteria?

Does the proposed work or development fit
within any of the complying development
categories and criteria?

Development Application (DA) required
from Council – see DA form and lodgement
checklist for requirements.

Obtain Complying Certificate from Council
or an Accredited Certifier.

Nominate Council or Accredited Certifier as
the Principal Certifying Authority for
inspecting the works.

Development Consent issued.

Undertake works in accordance
with requirements.

Obtain Construction Certificate from Council
or an Accredited Certifier.

If work is under a CC or CDC, obtain an
Occupation Certificate prior to occupying
new building works.
