E-waste

Scheduled for Saturday 12th Dec 2009, 10am to 2pm at Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre, Rutherford Rd Muswellbrook.

Pile of electronic wasteWhat is e-waste?

Your unwanted televisions, microwaves, fax machines, power tools, PCs, laptops, digital cameras etc will be recycled; saving pollutants such as heavy metals going to landfill.

Your collected goods are broken down into components such as plastics, glass, metals, wiring and circuit boards then sent to various recovery facilities for recycling.  Some of these components can be recycled into new products whilst others, such as metals, can be recycled and reused over and over again.

What electronics can’t be recycled?

Fridges, freezers and air conditioning units cannot be accepted for e-waste collection. See Disposing of irregular items or contact us to find out how to dispose of these goods.

Can businesses use this service?

YES!  If you have large volumes of electronic waste, please contact Muswellbrook Council on 6549 3840 and register prior to Friday 4th December 2009.
