Muswellbrook Shire Council’s 2010 Australia Day Ambassador announced.
Council’s Ambassador for 2010 is Gary O’Callaghan M.B.E., Radio Host who worked for 2UE for over 30 years first as a news reader and then as the host of the 2UE Breakfast Show.
Council’s plans to celebrate Australia Day 2010 are well advanced. Nominations for the awards to be presented at the ceremony have now closed.
“Council has received over 27 nominations. Although this is less than in previous years the nominations received and achievements of the nominees is very impressive. It is great to see that people have taken time to nominate others who contribute outstanding services to the community and excel in their field of endeavour” Australia Day Co-ordinator Michelle Sandell-Hay said.
The award categories are Citizen, Young Citizen and Young Citizen School Achiever Awards, Northoak & Environmental Awards, Cultural and Young Cultural Awards and Sports Awards.
