Young Citizen School Achiever Award
2012 - Gordon Akauma
Gordon is being recognised for his achievements in the Academic and wider Community which includes:
- Being the Chairperson of the organising Committee of the Annual “All Stars” Week (a week of activities for young adults with an intellectual handicap) and “Golden Oldies” Day (a day of activities for local elderly people), both to be held in 2012.
- Holding the position of President of the School Representatives Council during 2011.
- Holding the position of Sports House Captain and Administration Group Leader during 2011.
- Receiving a Sporting Achievement Award for Basketball and Rugby League.
- Receiving the Top Academic Student Award.
- Receiving the Principal’s Gold Award for Outstanding Contribution to the School and Wider Community.
- Participating in the Muswellbrook Anzac Day Marches each year for the past 6 years.
- Travelling to Murray’s Creek to play in the Charity Football Match, to provide local children with sporting facilities in the town after flood damage.
- Modelling in a fashion parade for the last 2 years to help raise funds for Haiti disaster and St Vincent De Paul Society.
- Receiving a Certificate of Distinction for consistently achieving very good results in the School Review Program.
- Being the solo recipient of the Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award from the RAAF for the last 2 years.

Sam Hume
Sam is being recognised for his achievements at Muswellbrook High School which include:
- Being a Muswellbrook High School Year 6 Orientation Day Mentor 2008-2010.
- Being the lead role in the Muswellbrook High School Musical 2008-2009.
- Participating in and Winning the Muswellbrook Lioness Club 2010 Youth of the Year.
- Being a Student Representative on the P&C Committee.
- Being part of the SRC Fundraising Committee 2006-2008 and 2010.
- Being a reading and writing mentor for the School Certificate and HSC Students 2007-2010.
- Being awarded Dux of the Year 2006, 2007 and 2009.
- Winning the 2009 Bengalla Mining Company Science Award.
- Being chosen as the 2011 School Captain.
- Volunteering for the Dartbrook Mining Company Tree Planting in 2008.
Sam Green
Sam is being recognised for his achievements at Scone Grammar School which include:
- Being involved in the Muswellbrook PCYC.
- Being involved in the Muswellbrook Rugby Club.
- Being involved in the Soccer Club.
- Being involved in the Relay for Life as a Co-ordinator.
- Being involved in Clean Up Australia Day.
- Being Scone Grammar School Rugby/Soccer Team Coach.
- Being Scone Grammar School Captain.
- Being Scone Grammar School SRC Co-ordinator.
