Junior Sportsperson of the Year
The Sporting awards are awarded to individuals/teams who have shown to have a significant contribution to the sporting nature of Muswellbrook Shire. Nominees must be no more than 18 years of age at 1st January each year.
2012 - Victoria Wicks
Victoria is being recognised for her achievements in the fields of Equestrian sports, Touch Football, Soccer and Athletics which includes:
- Being NSW State Interschool’s Champion.
- Being Winner of Champion Junior Riders Pointscore North West Expo Coonabarabran Horse Sports.
- Champion Junior Girls Rider and Champion Schools Dressage Team.
- Representing St Joseph’s Aberdeen in Diocesan and State Championship Level in 200m High Jump.
- Being part of the St Joseph’s Aberdeen’s All Schools Touch Team Championship.
- Being part of the winning U12s Girls Touch Team.
2011 - Jake Parker
Jake is being recognised for his achievements in the field of Football, Athletics and Swimming which include:
- Being Captain of the Muswellbrook Public School Open Rugby League Team.
- Being part of the Muswellbrook Public School Open Rugby League Team who won the State Championship in 2010.
- Representing the Hunter Region in Athletics in the 100m, 200m and Senior Boys Relay in 2010.
- Representing the Hunter Region in Rugby League in a squad of 32 boys selected from across the state in 2010.
- Being part of the Joint Winning National Touch Football team.
- Being part of the NSW Rugby League U12 Development Squad.
