A new photo competition is being launched this year by the Muswellbrook Shire Council Australia Day Committee.
In conjunction with the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre the Australia Day Committee is thrilled to announce that a photo competition open to all residents of Muswellbrook Shire will take place for the 2010 Australia Day celebrations. The competition has a theme that should appeal to all in the Shire and provide plenty of scope for photographers – Rural Life. This theme may be interpreted in any way as long as the photo has been taken or made in Muswellbrook Shire.
The Award will be announced and all entries on display at the Australia Day Celebrations at the Denman Indoor Sports Centre, Ogilvie Street, Denman which commence at 7.00am on Tuesday 26th January 2010.
The judge for the Award is well known local photographer Roger Skinner.
The prize money for the competition is $400 but there’s more to the prize than that; the winning photograph will become a permanent part of the prestigious Muswellbrook Shire Art Collection housed at the Arts Centre. In addition to the prize itself all the works will be on display at the Arts Centre from 10.00am Thursday 28th January to 5.00pm Sunday 28th February 2010 in the School of Arts Gallery. After the close of the exhibition at the Arts Centre the winning work will be on display at the Muswellbrook Shire Administration Centre for twelve months.
So all you photographers out there in the Shire get clicking and help the people of Muswellbrook celebrate Australia Day 2010 with a picture of Rural Life here in Muswellbrook.
