70 volunteers Clean Up in Muswellbrook and Denman

Muswellbrook Shire Council would like to thank those groups and individuals that gave up their time on Sunday morning to participate in Clean Up Australia Day despite the weather. This year the focus was on litter and participants targeted hot spots such as both skate parks in Denman and Muswellbrook, local fast food outlets as well as main streets in both towns.

Council’s Sustainability Officer, Tracy Ward said: “It was a rainy start to the day but 50 people still turned up in Muswellbrook and Denman to clean up. I’d like to thank our Scout and Girl Guide groups that participate every year as well as those individuals that show up year in, year out. This year also saw the Red Door Community Kitchen get a group together to help out”

Council would also like to acknowledge council staff and councillors as well as local businesses that got in and helped out including Cummins South Pacific, Muswellbrook McDonalds, Final Form Regen and Stan Ray.

Council is dedicated to the environment and has actively participated in Clean Up Australia Day for twenty seven years. Council not only encourages residents to participate in Clean Up Australia Day but to take pride in our Shire and keep it clean every day.
