Ring in 2025 with a spectacular family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at Muswellbrook Showground on Tuesday 31 December 2024 from 5:30pm to 9pm. Proudly sponsored by Idemitsu, this free community event promises an evening of live entertainment, delicious food, and festive fun, concluding with a dazzling fireworks display.

Headlining the event:

  • Tigerlily (DJ set) – 7:30pm to 9pm
  • Savage Groove (live band) – 5:45pm to 7:15pm

  • Food trucks offering a variety of tasty options

As always – take care of your pets – we love fireworks, but they don’t. Check that they are safe and secure before heading out. Click here for information from the RSPCA on caring for your pets during fireworks displays.

In the event that they do escape, ensuring your pet’s registration is up to date will help for them to be returned safely.

  • There will be seating provided in the middle of the showground including wooden picnic tables, bench seats, wine barrels with stools & glow furniture. Only BYO picnic rugs are allowed; chairs, inflatables, picnic furniture, shade structures, tents or canopies will not be allowed into the venue.

  • Yes! Kids are welcome and there will be plenty of FREE kids’ entertainment including face painting, rides, bubble mermaids and lots more! Under 14s will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian (proof of age required).

  • You can bring snack foods ONLY. New Year’s Eve 2024 at Muswellbrook Showground is a fully catered event. Local vendors will have stalls on-site selling a variety of styles of food. The food stalls cater for people with special dietary requirements such as vegetarian, gluten free & vegan.

  • Only BYO picnic rugs are allowed; chairs, inflatables, picnic furniture, shade structures, tents or canopies will not be allowed into the venue.

  • No animals or pets will be allowed into the event apart from licensed assistance animals.

  • While we understand some patrons want to be first in to get a good position, we recommend that you line up only a short time before the advertised gate opening time.  There are no facilities or shade outside the venue, and it can get very hot while standing in the queue.  The gates will not open early just because there is a long queue.

  • No, the event is a non-smoking event.

  • Yes. Under 14s will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and proof of age is required.

  • No! Entry to the event is FREE.

  • The event is being held at Muswellbrook Showground with entry via Rutherford Road. Parking will be on-site, and off-street parking is also available.

  • The prohibited items list includes the following:

    • BBQs, cooking equipment, gas cylinders, helium cylinders, or other electrical appliances
    • Illicit substances
    • Alcohol
    • Soft drink & non-alcoholic beverages
    • Unsealed water bottles – sealed plastic bottles are permitted
    • Metal water bottles
    • Glass water bottles
    • Camel bags or similar water containers
    • Knives or other dangerous weapons including potential missiles
    • Flares, fireworks, sparklers or party poppers
    • Lasers or laser pointers
    • Animals or pets (other than licensed assistance animals)
    • Professional recording or broadcast devices (other than mobile phones)
    • Drones
    • Walkie-talkies
    • Bicycles, scooters & skateboards
    • Umbrellas
    • Shade structures, tents & canopies
    • Flags with poles, large flags or banners that may obstruct the view of other patrons
    • Protest paraphernalia and banners
    • Any dangerous goods
    • Any person bearing or wearing gang colours, patches or insignias are not permitted entry to the event
    • Any other items as determined by the Event Organiser that may cause injury or public nuisance
  • There is disabled parking available within the showgrounds.

    Please note that this is an outdoor venue with grassed and uneven surfaces as well as being open to the elements. If you require any assistance on the day, please ask one of our staff or security.

  • Muswellbrook Showground is grass underfoot, so it is advisable to wear comfortable, flat shoes. Because we are at the mercy of mother nature, it is important to dress for the weather conditions on the day. This may include a hat and sunscreen, warm coat, waterproof jacket or poncho for inclement weather (umbrellas will not be allowed).

  • The concert will proceed rain or shine. Only exceptionally severe weather conditions will affect the performance, so come prepared for the conditions on the day. Remember: umbrellas are not allowed inside the venue.

    If weather conditions are deemed dangerous for the artist to perform or put patrons’ safety at risk, the event may be cancelled.

  • All lost property will be placed at the designated Event Management Office. Patrons can check for any lost items during the event.

  • When the main act and support acts take the stage will vary and is dependent on the promoter, artist/s and the weather conditions.

  • Gates open at 5:30pm. The event finishes at 9pm after the fireworks.

  • The event is being held at Muswellbrook Showground with entry via Rutherford Road. Parking will be on-site, and traffic management will be in place around the venue on the day.

  • There will be NO ATMs onsite to provide cash out. If you wish to bring cash, please arrange before coming to the venue.

  • Yes. First aid is available at the Event Management Office.

  • Yes. The event organisers for the event want to provide a safe environment for all patrons, staff, volunteers and performers. For everyone’s safety, there will be security guards and User Pays Policing Services on site for the duration of the event.
