Location and Opening Hours

The Reuse Shop is located at the Muswellbrook Waste & Recycling Facility and is open from 9:30am to 3:30pm on days when the Muswellbrook Waste & Recycling Facility is open.

Donation Guidelines

Thank you for considering donating to our Reuse Shop! We rely on landfill diversion from the community’s waste to provide affordable and sustainable goods to our customers.

Please make yourself aware of the below guidelines before seeking to donate items.

Accepted Items

We may only accept gently used furniture, sporting, camping or outdoor equipment, garden items, hardware, bathroom tiles, pet cages, toolboxes, sinks, picture frames, books, baskets, crockery, ornaments, DVDs, records and CDs.

Items must be clean, safe and in good working condition.

Condition

We do not accept items that are broken, torn, stained or mouldy, have missing pieces or parts, or are otherwise damaged or unsanitary. Please do not seek to donate such items as we will refuse them.

Please do not donate liquids, powders or hazardous goods such as chemicals, batteries, fire extinguishers, electronics or paint. Many of these items can be recycled free of charge at the Community Recycling Centre.

We encourage people to donate items we cannot accept to other charities including homelessness services, shelters and opportunity shops.

Refusal of Donations

We reserve the right to refuse any donations that do not meet our standards.

We reserve the right to refuse any donation in the event it cannot safely fit in the Reuse Shop.

If we are unable to accept your donation, we will provide suggestions for other organisations that may be able to use it or inform you the disposal options and likely disposal charges.

Drop-off Hours

Donations can be dropped off at the Reuse Shop any time during Muswellbrook Waste & Recycling Facility’s regular opening hours.

We do not offer pick-up services.

Receipts

We are happy to provide receipts for donations. Please ask for a receipt at the time of donation.
