Interested residents have until 3 March 2023 to apply to join the Olympic Park Precinct advisory committee. Council resolved to establish the committee last year and is calling for an independent community member to join the committee.

In accordance with Section 355 and Section 377 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council is permitted to delegate certain functions to a Committee of the Council. Council uses this delegation to create committees that include members of the community to assist in the management, care, and control of Council assets.

The Olympic Park Precinct is Muswellbrook’s premier sport and recreation precinct and is in the process of a major redevelopment and the committee will also include nominated representation from user groups as well as an independent community member.

The establishment of the development advisory committee will provide valuable assistance to Council in making best value for money decisions on behalf of the community. Interested community members are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to join the Olympic Park Development Advisory Committee.
