About the Building

Muswellbrook Energy & Resources Centre (MERC) is a dedicated space for renewable energy proponents, resources companies, infrastructure project managers and relevant government agencies to base operations and interact with the local community. The MERC is a flexible, collaborative space and will provide a place for community and businesses to connect with the projects planned for the shire.  

What is available?

The MERC is a multipurpose space and includes: 

  • Meeting and presentation spaces – can be utilised for community information sessions, provide presentations on projects and project needs 
  • Exhibition and display shopfront – to showcase brochure stands, information booths, project models, project plans and other ad hoc designs to inform and educate the public on planned projects.  

The building features include: 

  • Prime Ground Floor Location – Direct, accessible street access ideal for high foot traffic and visibility. 
  • Modern Amenities – Equipped with high-speed internet, air conditioning, and accessible facilities for staff and visitors. 
  • Ample parking – Convenient parking on and off street for employees and visitors, located directly adjacent to the building. 
  • Digital Connectivity – Access to high speed, secure internet. 

Location

Located on the ground floor of the Tertiary Education Centre (TEC) on the corner of Bridge St and Hill St in the heart of town, the MERC is a short walk from Muswellbrook transport interchange.  

The TEC already houses the University of Newcastle and is an established hub for workforce development and re-skilling. This makes the building the perfect location for agencies focusing on economic transition, education, employment and regional community development.
