Project Update 28/07/2022
Commencing 1 August 2022, works on the Lorne Street road and drainage upgrades will move onto the road reserve and involve preparation works to excavate the road pavement for the construction of a new twin cell reinforced box culvert across Lorne Street.
For the duration of construction, Lorne Street will be closed to through traffic including pedestrians. The road will be accessible for residents and there will be ‘Local Residents Only’ signage in place.
The below plan indicates the area of the road identified to be closed to through traffic during the first stage of the works to construct the drainage culverts.

Project Update 12/09/2022
Construction of the major culvert across Lorne Street is complete and activities for the week commencing 12 September will focus on the further construction of new drainage along Lorne Street. In order to undertake construction in a safe manner this section of Lorne Street is currently closed to through traffic including pedestrians. Use of the road is by residents only at this time. Council acknowledges that this may be inconvenient and thanks the community for their understanding.
Project Update 4/11/2022
Although the current weather conditions have severely impacted the project the Contractor is still on track to complete the works by 1 December 2022.
The following works are scheduled to be undertaken:
- 9 November stabilising of road pavement
- 10 November commence construction of kerb and gutter
- 17 and 18 November road sealing, asphalting and drainage channel maintenance
- 19 November – 1 December – Footpath restoration including site disestablishment
The contractor will contact each resident prior to any driveway construction commencing to advise of timing of these works.
