Statement from Muswellbrook Shire Council

The loss of Wybong Hall to fire is heartbreaking for Muswellbrook Shire and, in particular, the Wybong community.

For more than a century, Wybong Hall has been at the centre of community life.

Generations of family, friends and residents have gathered within its walls, walked its floors, marked milestones and shared experiences.

To lose a place of such history and connection is a genuine sadness.

The thoughts of all of us at Muswellbrook Shire Council are with the Wybong community. The loss is felt widely. While comfort may be limited at this time, the strength of this community has always extended beyond the walls of its hall.

Council has reached out to the Wybong Hall Committee and we offer our full support.

To the Wybong community, we will continue to stand with you as the situation becomes clearer.

We ask our wider community to offer time and understanding to the Wybong Hall Committee as they determine the path ahead.
