Water Main Replacement Program – Lorne Street, Forbes Street, Turanville Avenue Muswellbrook
As part of Council’s ongoing water mains replacement program, Muswellbrook Shire Council has engaged Utilistra Pty Ltd to undertake construction of a new water main to replace the existing old main in Lorne Street, Forbes Street and Turanvillle Avenue. Works will commence 11 July 2022 with completion expected in approximately two months, weather permitting.
The activities associated with these works include:
- Service locating with vacuum truck
- Replacement of water mains
- Excavating and earth moving
- Traffic controls and detours in place as required
Work hours will be from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. There may be an increase in noise and vehicle movement while these works are being carried out. Utilistra will make every effort to minimise disruption.
During this period, sections of roads will be closed for traffic time to time however residents will always have access to their premises. Kerbside vehicle parking close to the working area will be restricted.
After completion of the new water main installation, water services to properties in this area will be transferred from the old to the new water main. If the water service will be interrupted (due to this work) Council will provide five days notice prior to the interruption.
