Council is currently seeking community feedback to help shape the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030.
Your feedback plays an important role in helping Council identify barriers, improve access and inclusion, build on progress from the past four years, and set priorities for the next plan, while ensuring we understand the experiences and needs of people living, working, and visiting the Muswellbrook Shire.

All councils in NSW are required under the NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014 to develop and implement a DIAP.
The plan identifies practical actions Council can take to remove barriers and improve access to:
- Council buildings and public spaces
- programs, events and services
- information and communication
- employment opportunities
Councils in NSW are required to regularly review and update their Disability Inclusion Action Plans.
The new DIAP will guide Council’s actions from 2026 to 2030 and ensure Council continues to improve accessibility, inclusion and participation for people with disability across the Muswellbrook Shire.
Community feedback plays an important role in shaping the priorities and actions included in the plan.
Feedback from surveys, listening posts and meetings with community members and service providers will help Council identify key barriers and opportunities to improve accessibility and inclusion.
This information will be used to develop practical actions that will form part of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030.

Anyone who lives, works or visits the Muswellbrook Shire is encouraged to share their ideas.
Following the consultation process, Council will review community feedback and develop the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030.
