About the Project

Muswellbrook Shire Council will commence its road resealing program in various locations around the Shire from mid-October 2023, weather permitting. Council has engaged Contractors Fulton Hogan Australia (Management) Pty Ltd to carry out the work.

Increasing the frequency with which Council reseals roads leads to greater protection of the underlying pavement, which in turn prevents deterioration and maximises the lifespan of the road.

Apart from the bitumen sealing of the road, the works will also include any preparatory works such as weed spraying, pothole patching, shoulder preparation and heavy patching.

Program Update 15/01/2024

The Shire Road Resealing Program has kicked off again this week with asphalt corrective sealing in Hill Street and King Street, Muswellbrook. These works were programmed to occur outside of school times to mitigate impacts and undertake the work in the safest possible way, due to their proximity to local schools.

Preparatory works to repair failed sections of pavement, prior to upcoming bitumen sealing, will continue next week on various sections of Sandy Creek Road.
