About the Project

Council is pleased to advise that we have been successful in obtaining funding under the new School Zone Infrastructure Sub Program as part of the federal stimulus NSW Road Safety Program.

The aim of the program is to deliver improvements to pedestrian facilities around schools.

Denman Public School – Paxton Street Denman

This location will see improvements to the access and safe crossing around Denman Public School. A new concrete footpath will be constructed along Paxton Street (western side) from Crinoline Street to Merton Street and a 50 metre long section on the eastern side adjacent to the School crossing.

Council has engaged contractors Hunter Wide Civil to undertake the works from Monday 4 April 2022.

Muswellbrook High School – Clendinning Street Muswellbrook

This location will see improvements to the access and safe crossing around Muswellbrook High School. Works on Clendinning Street involve construction of pedestrian islands, pram ramps, a footpath and road linemarking.

Thanks to all road users and neighbouring residences for your patience while we work to improve safety around our local schools.
