Investigation and design work has commenced on the project to construct the section of Yarraman Road, from the intersection of Wybong PO Road for a distance of 1.5 Km towards Wybong Road, including an upgraded crossing over Wybong Creek. The works currently being undertaken are project preliminaries including environmental assessment, survey, Geotech investigations and design for the civil works.

Update 15/12/2023
The Mangoola Coal Continued Operations (MCCO) Project (State Significant Development 8642) was approved by the NSW Independent Planning Commission on 26 April 2021.
The approval allows for mining of the new area north of Wybong Road and the closure of part of Wybong Post Office Road. The upgrade of a portion of Yarraman Road and the construction of a high-level bridge over Wybong Creek will be implemented to improve the road network in this location.
Mangoola Mine, through its contractors, will commence works on 8 January 2024 and the contractor’s compound has been established off Yarraman Rd, south of the Wybong Creek crossing. The road upgrade extends from the intersection of Wybong Post Office Road for 1.5km south along Yarraman Road. Part of Yarraman Road will be realigned to provide a straight horizontal road segment where it crosses Wybong Creek at the bridge location.
It is anticipated construction will continue through to the end of 2024, pending weather or any other unforeseen delays. During construction, Yarraman Road from Wybong Road intersection to just north of Wybong Post Office Road will be under traffic control management and road users may experience some delays.
The public are asked to drive with caution and obey all traffic control and signage at the site.
Update 15/08/2024
The project to construct a new bridge across Wybong Creek on Yarraman Road is progressing on schedule. Construction of the road approaches has commenced. To facilitate the construction of the new road alignment, at the location where it reconnects to the existing road, it will be necessary for the portion of Yarraman Road around the Wybong Creek Crossing to be closed from 12 August to approximately 14 October 2024 (depending on the weather).
Yarraman Road will be closed from the former Yarraman Estate Winery access (approximately 1.7km from Wybong Road intersection) to the Wybong Post Office Road intersection. There will be no access to or across the Wybong Creek crossing during this time. The Wybong Cemetery can still be accessed along Yarraman Road from the Wybong Road intersection. Alternative access to Yarraman Road north of the Wybong Post Office Road intersection will be via Ridgelands Road.
Council appreciates the patience of all road users and community members during this time.
