About the Project
Yarrawa Road is getting an upgrade! The works will see approximately 2.0km of the currently unsealed section of Yarrawa Road being upgraded and sealed, and additional road improvements to the road as a whole, which will have a major long-term benefit for the road user in terms of safety and efficiency.
Council has awarded these works to contractors KCE Pty Ltd, who will commence construction on 1 November 2021 and will continue for approximately eight (8) months from the commencement date.
During the period of construction, traffic control will be in place, and unfortunately there will be impacts and delays for road users. Council asks the public to be patient during this construction period, drive with caution and obey all traffic control and signage at the site.

Project Update 18/11/2021
Vegetation removal has been completed. The following week’s work includes commencing excavation for the table drain construction and preparing the base slab for culvert construction.
Project Update 22/12/2021
Construction of the stormwater culvert is continuing. Due to the culvert being constructed half-road at a time, a single lane traffic arrangement will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey all traffic control at the site during this time.
Project Update 25/02/2022
The stormwater culvert has been completed, and the left side subbase work is complete up to CH800. Subsoil drainage and table drain work is progressing.
Project Update 7/04/2022
The first half of the unsealed section of Yarrawa Road improvements, including shaping and drainage, has been completed. The contractor is now undertaking similar works for the second half of the upgrade in preparation for the sealing and completion of the improvements.
Traffic control is currently in place with traffic lights, and some sections are a single lane traffic arrangement. Please drive carefully through the site and obey all traffic controls and speed limits.
Project Update 25/07/2022
The road works to upgrade the previously unsealed section of Yarrawa Road are nearing completion. This week’s work has involved shaping and final trimming in preparation for sealing. Weather permitting, sealing works will take place on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 July.
