Council has been undertaking work on the fluoride dosing systems at Denman and Muswellbrook water treatment plants to continue delivery of high-quality drinking water to the community. The fluoride dosing systems will be affected during this work, and an expected timeline for completion is outlined below. When the fluoride dosing systems are paused, water can be consumed as normal, and the benefits provided by fluoride dosing will resume at the completion of the projects.

Denman Fluoride Treatment

Denman fluoride treatment has been paused as Council is undertaking major equipment replacement works on the fluoride dosing system at Denman Water Treatment Plant. Fluoride dosing is expected to resume in June 2026.

Muswellbrook Fluoride Treatment

There is currently a pause on fluoride dosing at the Muswellbrook Water Treatment Plant as Council is upgrading the fluoride dosing equipment. The upgrade is funded through NSW Department of Health. New equipment has been installed with connections and commissioning have been completed. Following necessary approvals from NSW Health, the expected return to service date for the fluoride treatment at Muswellbrook Water Treatment Plant is June 2026.
