Character Design and Puppet Making Workshop
Calling all young creatives! Learn the art of character design and puppet making for animation in this hands-on workshop for students in Years 7–12.
Join award-winning animators and filmmakers Jelena Sinik, Nicolette Axiak and Carl Stewart as they guide participants through the process of bringing original characters to life. From sketching ideas to constructing puppets for animation, students will develop practical skills while exploring their creativity.

Who can attend: Students in Years 7–12
Participants will learn:
- Designing unique characters
- Building armature puppets
- Translating ideas from 2D to 3D
- Designing with purpose
- Creative visualisation techniques
- Sculpting and crafting skills
- Creative problem-solving
All materials will be supplied.
This inclusive activity is open to all students in Years 7–12. Families requiring additional support are encouraged to contact Muswellbrook Library prior to the event to discuss their needs.
