Project Overview
Muswellbrook Shire Council is upgrading approximately 1.3 kilometres of Thomas Mitchell Drive from the intersection with Denman Road as part of the Stage 4B road improvement program.
The project will improve road safety, strengthen the existing pavement and enhance drainage to provide a more durable and reliable road for the community.
Construction will be undertaken by Council’s appointed contractor, KCE Pty Ltd, with works commencing 13 July 2026 and expected to be completed by late May 2027, weather permitting.
During construction, this section of Thomas Mitchell Drive will operate under traffic control. Road users should expect changed traffic conditions, including possible delays, and are encouraged to allow additional travel time and follow all traffic management signage to ensure the safety of workers and motorists.
